Does YUL provide ISBNs for faculty publications?

Answer

York University Libraries does not issue International Serial Book Numbers (ISBN). Library and Archives Canada (LAC) allows individuals and organizations to request ISBNs by creating a free account. Learn more about eligibility and requesting ISBNs through LAC at https://www.canada.ca/en/library-archives/services/publishers/isbn.html

According to the Canadian ISBN Publishers' Directory, some departments at York are already registered as publishers. You may contact an appropriate department to see if your publication is eligible for an ISBN through their service. If not, you may have to register yourself as a publisher.

YUL is not responsible for any department's ISBN policies and will not register community members as publishers on their behalf.
