Can the Libraries provide a certificate of completion or proof of attendance for a workshop or class?

Answer

Yes! We offer several options, depending on the workshop or class:

  • Proof of attendance – an informal record (e.g. an email) verifying that someone has attended a YUL-delivered instruction session. To receive this documentation, contact your library instructor.
  • Proof of participation – a document verifying that someone has successfully completed an assessment after attending a YUL- delivered instruction session. These are only available for certain classes such, as the Introduction to Library Research series. To receive this documentation, please follow the instructions in class or contact your library instructor.

The Library also participates in the Canadian Certificate in the Digital Humanities(cc:DH/DN) program for graduate students. Many of our workshops qualify for this program, and upcoming workshops are listed on the program website. However, this credential only requires certificates of completion for courses that are at least 20 hours long. For workshops offered by York University Libraries, just provide the date you attended and the name of the instructor. Full details on the certificate program are available on the cc:DH/DN website.
