How do I find a book at the library?

Answer

First you go on our library website and search for the 'title' in Omni.

Search will bring up many results, but you can narrow down your search using the facets on the left side of the page.  Find the correct title, year, edition and click on it.

Note the location, we have many libraries (Bronfman, Steacie, Scott, Frost, Osgoode), you will see whether it's available or not, and the call number.  Record the call number and in this case, location is Scott Library, head upstairs to 5th floor.

Scott Library  Available , Scott Stacks ; PR 6069 A426 S5

PR is on the 5th floor, then ensure you are in the 6000's you will find the entire call number on the spine of the book.  Once you locate the item, take it down to the first floor and sign it out at the AskUs desk, using your YUcard.

If you need help finding a book, simply go to the AskUs desk in any of our libraries and ask, someone will take you and show you how to locate the item.
