Is it possible to request books/other materials from other libraries when in-person library services are suspended?

Answer

During COVID-19 new requests for print or other physical formats from other libraries cannot be accepted at the current time.  To place a request for a resource in an online format, e.g., e-articles, or a chapter in an e-book, that York Libraries do not own, it is now possible to submit an online RACER request. Please visit RACER to submit your request. Note that it may not always be possible to successfully fill all RACER requests, depending on availability and license agreements that apply.

Instructors can direct questions, concerning print materials available at York Libraries, but made inaccessible due to building closures, to yul_cda@yorku.ca. The Libraries continue to accept suggestions for purchase for electronic content.

Also, if you have any other questions please visit our Ask A Question site to connect with a librarian by chat, zoom or email. Virtual (using Zoom) consultations with librarians are also available for more in-depth or complex questions.
