Where and when can I get writing help in the library?
Students can get quick (about 15 minutes or less) writing assistance in the Learning Commons Hub on the 2nd floor of Scott Library. Drop-in writing help is provided by writing instructors from the Writing Department (Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies). They can help you with starting an assignment, developing a thesis, writing analytically, considering your audience’s expectations, and organizing and structuring your essay. However, writing instructors will not edit your papers.
Drop-in Sessions at the Learning Commons of Scott Library
Weekdays Monday to Friday 1:30-3:20 p.m., and Saturday 1:00-2:50 p.m. Look for us on the second floor of Scott.
No appointment necessary.
If you require more in-depth writing help, consult the list of writing support centres at York for more information.
